The Joys of having a Slow Cooker!!

So I was trying to think of what I was going to make for dinner one night and I came upon this recipe that looked really good and easy. I am all about easy.  Its called "Creamy Black Bean Burritos" but I also like to call it "It's so yummy I could die!" ha ha The nice thing about it is that you cook it in a slow cooker so you really don't have to do anything, and by the time you get home from work, errands or whatever dinner is already done. You guys should try it out and let me know what you think.

Things you will need....

Oh and i forgot Tortillas!!

Recipe:
  • 2-4 chicken breasts
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup salsa
  • 1 can corn (drained)
  • 1 can black beans (drained)
  • 1 package taco seasoning
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheese
Instructions:
  1.  Place chicken breasts into crock pot.
  2. Add chicken, chicken broth, salsa, corn, black beans and taco seasoning.
  3. Cook 2-3 hours on High, 4-6 hours on Low.
  4. When done take chicken out and shred.
  5. Add sour cream and cheese to the sauce.

War of the Buttons!

Last week Natalie and me had a girls night out! It was so much fun. We talked, laughed and made really cute button earrings. I got this idea from my really good friend Haley on her blog Life is Sweet! She is so creative and cute. I just loved this idea because I only own 1 pair of earrings, so we gave it a try. Haley made it look like a piece of cake, but I guess for people like me who have no creative bone in their body its a little more difficult. ha ha After lots of trial and error and not to mention lots of burnt fingers I finally got the hang of it and I just LOVE how they turned out. I went from having 1 pair of earrings to having 7 pair all while hanging out and having some great laughs. I wear them all the time and always get compliments. Thanks Haley. :)

Crying over our burnt fingers!! ha ha We are such Babies. :)

So you think you can dance?

For my sisters birthday we all got together and had a Wii party. My mom bought this new game called Dance2 (if you have never played it I recommend that you do) it was so much fun. Even if you might not be the best dancer you can't help but get into all of the dances. I definitely got my groove on! ha ha  We even got my dad to play, and the best part is that I caught it on tape!! ha ha Every time I watch this video it puts a smile on my face, so I thought I would share it with all of you.:) My Mom and Dad would probably kill me if they new I was putting this up, but everyone deserves a good laugh once in awhile. Enjoy!!

Thanksgiving!!!!

Chad and I had our first thanksgiving as a married couple and it was perfect! Chad got to play in his turkey bowl with the guys from work while I stayed home and made some yummy chocolate chip cookies and watched the Thanksgiving day parade!:) Then I made my favorite game day treats. (Pigs in a blanket, chips and bean dip and of course coke.)

After eating snacks and watching football we did one of my favorite Thanksgiving traditions .....we made homemade place mats!
(you just use wax paper, crayons, and leaves)

BIRTHDAY SURPRISE!!!

For Chad's 26th birthday I surprised him with a birthday get away! My parents helped me get a sweet hotel room in Midway at the WorldMark resort. :) I was so proud of myself for actually keeping it a secret. I spent the whole day getting ready for it so when he got home we could take off. I told him we had a dinner reservation and needed to leave right after he got off work. I made him let me drive so I could blindfold him all the way to the resort. ha ha :)

When he walked in the door I had the surprise set up for him with his gifts, sparkling apple cider, junk food and his favorite dinner. I got him his favorite chips and stuff for his new bike!!

THE ROOM!!!!
We made grilled teriyaki chicken sandwiches for dinner and they were amazing!

We went swimming, hot tubing, watched movies and just relaxed. Then in the morning we had chocolate milk, orange juice, and egg mcmuffins.
It was a perfect birthday get away!!
